OUR STORY

Our story began 6 years ago, with one simple goal in mind: craft the best beef jerky while maintaining the pure quality and flavor of beef.  ​

We wanted to create a product that was free of all the bad stuff that takes away from what makes beef great.  ​

The outcome: Thanks Danks. ​

We have spent the past 8 years working on this brand to make sure it is the best jerky anyone has ever had. And while we continue to grow, we will never skimp on the quality or craftsmanship that goes into each and every bag of Thanks Danks. ​

the man behind the meat

The first time I had beef jerky, I was three years old. And still, to this day, beef jerky is my favorite food. 

As a kid, I remember going to the gas station, carefully examining all the different jars of jerky they sold, trying to find the perfect piece.  

Today, there are less jars to choose from and too many commercial brands that taste like rubber and are loaded with sugar. 

Meat should not taste like that!  It was around 14 years old that I started thinking I should make my own. In 2012, I began to get serious about jerky and made my first batch.

Over the years, I learned everything I could about beef: What makes the best marinade? Which seasonings keep the flavor of the beef? How can I make this better than what is being sold? 


For the past 8 years, I have been crafting, creating, and perfecting jerky. 

In 2016, Thanks Danks was born. 

After discovering that my wife had an autoimmune disorder and corn allergy, like so many of our friends, colleagues and family who are celiac, gluten intolerant or diabetic, I made it a mission to make a beef jerky product that as safe for any and everyone. 

No sugar. No wheat. No GMO's. No nitrates. No liquid smoke. No artificial flavorings. No corn. No water. 

Just pure beef flavored with fresh ingredients you would find in your own kitchen, rather than a lab. 

In each bag of Thanks Danks  you'll find perfectly seasoned, gluten-free, no additives or nitrates USDA flank steak.

I like to call myself the (wo)man behind the curtain. With a background in advertising, it is my job to take care of the Thanks Danks brand as a whole. 

And while I thoroughly enjoy maintaining our image and everything that happens behind the scenes, my favorite role in our company is sampling and tasting the recipes that come out of Garret's kitchen.  ​

When we discovered my autoimmune disorder, as well as my corn allergy, Garret made it a point to create a beef jerky that would taste amazing, while being safe to eat for most anyone.  ​
